An Unusual Tree

The telephone pine (Phonus mastus oddiformis ) .  No young specimens known to exist,  miraculously appears almost overnight, fully formed. The more common variant has a much more metallic appearance and is perhaps a little less strange to look at.  And I'm not referring to the power line poles to the left of it!
