Tophill Low Reservoir

Stores water from the river Hull for purification for public supply - lots of wildfowl overwinter here. Seemed like spring had arrived, but them a cold wind got up, storm clouds appeared and it briefly snowed, just to remind that it hadn't.

Timberrrrrrrr

The cyprus tree at the end of the garden came down in 70mph winds last night. It couldn't have done a better job of missing the greenhouse, but it still did considerable damage to the fences and hedge. Oh dear - I hope that the birds and squirrels find somewhere else to live.

Stormy Weather

A big storm is about to hit the UK,  but looks like it will pass below us here in Yorkshire.  It's really quite windy,  but probably nothing like the tornados and hurricanes that hit other parts of the world.   I don't think our weathermen would cope with with one of those!  Summer's definitely gone, though there hasn't been a frost yet and it's still fairly warm.  Just struck me that this post is typically British -  nothing else to talk about so waffle about the weather!
