The Humber estuary, with the bridge in the distance (first try at HDR photo).North is on the right hand side, south on the left. Hugely in debt, with a toll charge to cross. Destined to be part of eastern transport route connecting major ports, which was started, but never completed (British planning strikes again!). It used to be the longest single span suspension bridge in the world until beaten by the Japanese.
