Open Skies

Ousefleet Marshes  - on the edge of the RSPB reserve at Blacktoft Sands.  Plenty of wildlife:  tree sparrows, reed bunting, snipe, redshank, curlew, lapwings, barn owl, marsh harriers, a range of ducks (shelduck, pochard, widgeon and mallard), roe deer, hares and others as well, including a mole fortress.  Definitely a wild place and worth a visit, even though you have to put up with everyone else that's there. This may be unfair on bird watchers in general, but there seemed to be a relatively large number of people smoking, and wearing rustly nylon jackets smelling of sweat (yuk).  At least most of them did not venture to the farthest hides, and went home before the day ended!
