Mother of Pearl Sky
Nacreous clouds of polar regions, rare in the northern hemisphere. Only occur when the air is dry and temperature is less than minus 84 degrees centigrade. May look good, but they can be associated with chemicals that break down the ozone layer.

Happy Christmas
Sunset by the sea on Christmas Day - no colour editing! You really had to be there to appreciate it to the full. And we had the whole beach to ourselves!

Open Skies
Ousefleet Marshes - on the edge of the RSPB reserve at Blacktoft Sands. Plenty of wildlife: tree sparrows, reed bunting, snipe, redshank, curlew, lapwings, barn owl, marsh harriers, a range of ducks (shelduck, pochard, widgeon and mallard), roe deer, hares and others as well, including a mole fortress. Definitely a wild place and worth a visit, even though you have to put up with everyone else that's there. This may be unfair on bird watchers in general, but there seemed to be a relatively large number of people smoking, and wearing rustly nylon jackets smelling of sweat (yuk). At least most of them did not venture to the farthest hides, and went home before the day ended!
