Misericord

Medieval (C14) misericord from St Mary's Church, Beverley, showing bear baiting. Different view of cruelty then, though the bear seems to be wearing leather breeches the dogs have no protection. Poor animals.

Dogs and Cats

Seems dogfish should now more correctly be called cat sharks.  Were they consulted about this rather drastic change in status?  And will the fish (shark?) formerly sold as "woof" now be known as "meow"?
